Summer Session Policy

Effective Date: After June 30

Holiday Week: The first week of July is considered a holiday week due to the Fourth of July celebrations. There will be no lessons conducted during this week.

Asynchronous Lesson Period: The summer session will consist of four weeks of asynchronous lessons, divided as follows:

  • Week 1: Second week of July

  • Week 2: Third week of July

  • Week 3: Fourth week of July

  • Week 4: First week of August

Details of Asynchronous Lessons:

  • Format: Weekly asynchronous lessons and instructions will be communicated at the beginning of each week in the student’s online piano portal (Google Classroom), allowing students to learn and practice at their own pace.

  • Content: Each week, students will receive a structured lesson accessible in their online piano portal (Google Classroom), including video tutorials, masterclasses, or lectures, practice guides, worksheets, and supplemental materials.

  • Feedback: Students will have some required submissions, such as practice videos and completed assignments. Constructive feedback will be provided when the assignment or project allows.

Expectations and Commitment:

  • Student Commitment: Students are expected to engage with the provided materials and complete assignments to ensure continued progress.

  • Parental Support: Parents are encouraged to support their children in maintaining a consistent practice schedule during the asynchronous lesson period.

Resumption of In-Person Lessons: In-person lessons will resume the second week of August to prepare for the upcoming school year.
